RADIANCE A.B. LODHA MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Notes for parents

These notes are for parents who are thinking about how their children learn and what to look for in a school. They describe how we work, what it asks of families, and where we are still learning.

For how Radiance began, read Why I started Radiance.

  1. 01

What does learning look like when children learn at different paces?

How an educator responds when one child grasps an idea at once and another needs more time, another material or another explanation.

  2. 02

Can children learn mathematics and language without textbooks?

Children working with pebbles, seeds, books and their own hands, and where written numbers and letters come in.

  3. 03

How do we know children are learning if we do not give marks?

What educators observe and record, what the progress card covers, and what we have seen when children move to mainstream schools.

  4. 04

Choosing a school is also choosing a community

Our admission process, what we ask of families, and how sliding scale fees work.
